Too Much Information!

Filed under: Informal Snapshots, Forgotten Indiana — Christopher Crawford @ 12:45 pm

I was driving down Spy Run Avenue in Fort Wayne a few days ago when I had to stop at the traffic light at the corner of Spy Run and Fourth Street. I glanced over toward the old building that houses Cardinal Tattoo when my eye caught this little kid-size 20 inch BMX bike leaned against the front of the tattoo shop.

Trees in Black & White

Filed under: Forgotten Indiana — Christopher Crawford @ 1:04 pm

Here is a black & white photograph of the landscape scene that I posted a few days ago. These four trees stood along Yohne Road in southwest Allen County, Indiana until they were bulldozed last year to make way for an expansion of the National Serv-All landfill.

Amy

Amy is one of my oldest friends. She’s working as a photographer at Disney World this fall, so I photgraphed her the day before she left Fort Wayne last weekend.

Lonely Tree

Filed under: Forgotten Indiana — Christopher Crawford @ 11:20 pm

This is one of the most perfectly formed trees that I have ever seen. It is in a field along Lima Road (Indiana State Road 3) a little south of Huntertown, Indiana. It has been a favorite subject for several years.

A lonely tree shrouded in fog stands in the middle of an empty field on a farm along State Road 3 near Huntertown, Indiana.

The Trees on Yohne Road

Filed under: Forgotten Indiana — Christopher Crawford @ 1:19 am

I have photographed this group of four trees on Yohne Road in southwest Allen County many times over the years. They were located in the middle of a field that is now owned by the National Serv-All Landfill. In September of last year, they were bulldozed to make way for an expansion of the landfill. This photograph was made in February or 2005. It is one of hundreds of older images that I am working on adding to my online portfolio.

The Jolly Green Giant at Cardinal Tattoo

Filed under: Forgotten Indiana — Christopher Crawford @ 11:03 pm

The Jolly Green Giant used to stand in the front window of Cardinal Tattoo at the corner of Spy Run Avenue and Fourth Street in Fort Wayne. He was moved to the back of the shop in the spring of 2010, so he’s still around. I made this photograph in December of last year.

Johnny Appleseed Festival

Filed under: Carnivals — Christopher Crawford @ 6:32 pm

I caught sight of this family walking through the Johnny Appleseed Festival in Fort Wayne, Indiana last year and had to get a photograph of that man with his baby grandson hanging on his chest.

Trust Jesus

Filed under: Carnivals — Christopher Crawford @ 12:42 am

This photograph was made last year at the Three Rivers Festival carnival at Headwaters Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This trailer housed a carnival game at the Three Rivers Festival at Headwaters Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I found the suggestion that we trust Jesus funny, given that carnival games are a somewhat shady business. If Jesus was there, He would probably be the only one you could trust. This game returned to the Three Rivers Festival in 2010.

A carnival game trailer that has Trust Jesus and a cross painted on the end of it and an American flag flying from the awning.
