This is my grandfather, Charles Crawford, in a photograph that I made in April of 2006. He was 82 yrs old in this photo. He has Alzheimers and isn’t going to be with us much longer. I have some newer photographs of him too that I will have up soon. I have a hard time working on these so I keep putting off scanning the film.

These clouds hovering over a wheatfield in the Texas Panhandle rolled in as I was photographing a windmill farm nearby. I made two photograph of them, within seconds of each other, because the light was rapidly changing as the sun came in and out of the clouds behind me. This made the ground go very dark as the sun was blocked by the cloud, while the clouds I photographed didn’t change in appearance at all.

Here is the other one, presented again for comparison to the new one above.

Here is another of my views from the top of La Bajada Mesa southwest of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Sandia Mountains on the north side of Albuquerque are visible 40 miles away to the south of the mesa’s edge.

My son and I found this abandoned Route 66 era tire shop along the old highway in Tucamcari, New Mexico after we stopped in the town to see the Mesalands Community College Dinosaur Museum. We were on our way to Santa Fe, where I lived at the time.

This trailer park is on Blufton Road in the Waynedale section of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Waynedale was once a small town several miles southwest of Fort Wayne. The town was eventually absorbed into the larger city as it expanded in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Today, Waynedale is the southwestern of Fort Wayne. Although Waynedale has been part of Fort Wayne for several decades now, it retains its small-town look and feel.
I grew up in Fort Wayne just north of Waynedale and my family often went into Waynedale to shop and eat out. I have been photographing Waynedale before it loses its old small town culture and look, a process that is sadly visible in Waynedale today.

Here’s another photo of my friend Debbie from New Mexico. She didn’t like the first one I posted, where she was laughing, so I printed this one for her.

My grandpa’s cat, Molly, is 17 years old. She’s giving me an evil look because she was mad that I hadn’t come to see her in a couple weeks. She holds grudges, sometimes for weeks at a time if the sin is big enough (feeding the dog, for example). I made this photograph back in November.
