I was driving down Spy Run Avenue in Fort Wayne a few days ago when I had to stop at the traffic light at the corner of Spy Run and Fourth Street. I glanced over toward the old building that houses Cardinal Tattoo when my eye caught this little kid-size 20 inch BMX bike leaned against the front of the tattoo shop.

My cat sitting in the kitchen in the early evening lit by the light from the nearby patio doors. He died at age 16 on July 22, 2010. My son and I miss him a lot.

The “We Buy Gold” store in the JoAnn Plaza shopping center on Coldwater Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana always has people standing on the corner holding these “Cash For Gold” signs. This young man always dresses as Superman or Spiderman, so I stopped and photographed him on June 10, 2010. He said he was 19 years old and was working to help support his three week old baby son.

A few months before this photograph was made, I was walking down Wagner Street in Fort Wayne, near where I live, taking pictures to test a camera I had bought. This fat cat was sitting on a porch, so I stopped to photograph him. He ran out and began to rub my legs and purr before I could get a photo, so I petted him and he seemed really friendly. Until I stopped petting him. Then the S.O.B. turned around and tore open my hand! I jumped up and he began to rub my legs again! I pushed him away with my foot; I wasn’t petting him after he attacked me. As I walked away, he jumped at my legs and attacked them too!
I saw him out again the day I made this photograph, so I walked down and took some photos of him, which he allowed this time. The old man who owned him came out and told me that he had found the cat as a stray in Ohio ten years ago. He laughed when I told him about the cat attacking me the first time I saw it, and he told me that the cat had always had a bad attitude! 6-3-10

My sister is a professional pet groomer, so when our parents’ Great Pyrenees dog, Gabby, needs her hair trimmed for the summer, Kelley goes to their house and does it. I snapped this photograph when I was there visiting on 5-31-10. I thought it looked pretty funny!

This is Simba, my 15 year old fatcat. He used to weigh over 20lb, and he still loves to eat despite losing weight in recent years because of stomach problems. He lives at my parents house because I can’t have pets where I’m renting, and he likes it there. Big house, yard, wussy-ass dog to terrorize. They have a gigantic dog, a Great Pyrenees, and it is a pussy. The cat beats up on her all of the time and often robs her of her food!

I am currently working on my masters degree, so I spend a few days a week on the campus of Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne. Last Wednesday, I noticed hearts drawn with sidewalk chalk all over the walkways on the campus. All of the walkways, or so it seemed! I stopped to photograph this line of hearts because it had the only broken heart I saw. The hearts turned out to be a visual lead to written anti-abortion messages chalked on the walks and plazas at various places around the campus.

This my parents’ dog, Gabby, a Great Pyrenees sheep dog. She is HUGE, but their cat kicks her butt and steals food from her every day.
